People often find planning for the worst a daunting task, but at MJV we take any stress and hassle away from you by providing expert advice to suit the needs and individual circumstances of our clients. We will make you aware of everything you need to know to allow you to make the correct decisions for you, your family and their future.

There are many things for you to consider in addition to your will such as potential care costs in later life, powers of attorney and inheritance tax, but we will talk you through these clearly so you can make the correct decisions for you and your family.

Lasting Powers of Attorney are increasingly useful as the population gets older. They allow you to make determine who will speak for you if you are unable to, but once you have lost mental capacity, you cannot make an LPA. We advise all clients to consider these carefully and will explain these to you in more detail as part of the will making process.

How much will it cost?

We charge:

£100 plus VAT at 20% of £20 totalling £120 for an individual will; and

£150 plus VAT at 20% of £30 per couple totalling £180.

If you require tax planning advice or wish to employ complex trust arrangements, there will be an additional charge for this, but we will set out that charge before undertaking any additional work on your behalf.

For Lasting Powers of Attorney, we charge:

£175 plus VAT at 20% of £35 totalling £210 for each, individual LPA.

For example, a client wishing to make both the Health and Wellbeing and Financial LPA would pay £350 plus VAT of £70 totalling £420.

There is also a fee of, as at 30 October 2019, £82 (there is no VAT on court fees and so no VAT on this charge) to register each document with the Office of the Public Guardian. If any of your Attorneys or Replacements live outside the UK and we are required to send them a copy of the LPA we will also charge postage costs as a disbursement.

Appointments are available either at our meeting room in the centre of Cleveleys or home appointments are available in Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Thornton, Poulton-le-Fylde and across the Fylde Coast.
